Jersey City Public Schools
School-Based Speech & Language Services
The students and families of the Jersey City Public Schools are our number one priority. We value and incorporate a team approach in our practice, including families and caregivers, teachers, child study team members, administration, and other related service providers. We believe this approach goes a long way in improving the communication outcomes of our students. Email us to find out how we can help you today.
FLUENCY EXPERT ALERT!!
J Scott Yaruss, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-F, F-ASHA
A message from Dr. Yaruss:
"I’d be delighted to have you highlight on your website— in addition to our books and assessments, we have quite a bit of free content, including handouts, videos, and blog posts all focused on “helping SLPs help people who stutter!”
UPDATE FROM YOUR SLPs:
In-person learning for preschool through third grade students whose parents selected the hybrid model begins Thursday, April 29, 2021. All children, both in-person and remote, will have a 12:45pm dismissal five days a week for the remainder of the year.
As a safety precaution, all related services (OT, PT, and Speech) will continue take place virtually. Many SLPs will be working from the buildings but will continue to provide services via Zoom, even if your child is in-person. This is to prevent the risk of cross-contamination, as most providers service many classrooms and multiple schools.
We will continue to do our best to meet the needs of your children in the safest way possible. We thank you for your patience and flexibility and we will continue to keep you updated!
For up to date information related to the re-opening of JCPS, please refer below to the Superintendent's Weekly Message.
Each May, Better Hearing & Speech Month (BHSM) provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA members in providing life-altering treatment.
